Judging by the number of returning guests the Winchester Mansions could never be described as a well kept secret, this stay was just as enjoyable as our first and when we next return to Cape Town we would not consider staying anywhere else. The reasons for our advocacy are as follows:-
1. The people - warm friendly welcoming can't do enough to please you and you even get a hug when they recognise you from previous visits. Particular stars to us are Happiness and Ayanda in the restaurant, Pamela in the bar, Goodwill and Shahid and Rifka who appears to work 24hrs on reception but still smiles at every guest.
2. Location - fantastic for people watching, particularly on the bar terrace, an easy walk to V&A which helps burn off the calories from the great South African cuisine and in the evening the courtesy car will take you in
3. Accommodation we had a sea facing suite and had no problems with traffic noise and the view was stunning
4. Food and in particular jazz brunch, wouldn't have though it possible to find all our favourite foods in one meal, the salads and sushi are just amazing if you stay on a sunday please book it's worth every penny.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we really enjoyed meeting are friends on the staff again we will be back
